WELCOME TO THE BLACK SHEEP CREAMERY Fine Hand Crafted Sheep Milk Cheeses Brad and Meg Gregory own and milk about 80 ewes on their farm in Western Washington. The ewes are a mix of several milking breeds, primarily East Freisien, Rideau-Arcott, and Lacuane. They are a healthy flock and are on pasture as much as the weather permits. They eat some grain in the milking parlour but are not given hormones or routine antibiotics. 2013 has begun and we begin a new year and a new emphasis. We have long wanted to use the "whole Buffalo" so to say. We have begun to market the Freisian wool as combed top for handspinners and we have developed two lines of wool yarn, the Chehalis and the Mima. The Chehalis is a sport weight yarn 275 yards per 100 gms and the Mima is a three ply worsted weight yarn! The wool will be sheared in January and will become yarn and top over the course of three months. Keep an eye out for Hand dyed Fresian yarns and top from the Black Sheep Creamery 360 520 3397
We hope you enjoy the website and our cheeses as they become available through out the year.
